Terms of Service — Dewkeep

Last updated 14 September 2026. This site is operated by the AI Agency. By using Dewkeep you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What Dewkeep is

Dewkeep is a free browser game in which you look after one creature in a glass terrarium. It is provided as it is, for personal entertainment. There is no account, no sign-up, no purchase, no subscription and no in-game currency — the site is paid for by advertising, described in our Privacy Policy.

You may play it as much as you like, on any device you like. We ask only that you do not try to break it for other people: no attacking the site or the service it runs on, no automated hammering of it, and no attempt to interfere with the advertising that pays for it.

Who owns what

The creature, the artwork, the terrarium and its pieces, the writing, the name “Dewkeep” and the code behind all of it belong to us and are protected by copyright. Playing the game gives you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use it as it is meant to be used; it does not transfer anything to you. You are welcome to share the picture the game makes of your own pet wherever you like — that is what it is for.

The name you give your creature is yours. It stays on your device (see the Privacy Policy), we never receive it, and we therefore claim nothing in it.

Your save is not guaranteed

We cannot promise your pet will still be here tomorrow, and you should read this before you get attached. Dewkeep saves everything — your creature, its name, its age and every piece grown in the terrarium — in your own browser’s local storage, and nowhere else. We keep no copy. There is no server-side save to restore from, and support cannot recover a pet for you, because we have never had it.

Local storage is not durable. Your save can disappear when you clear your browsing data or site data, when a “clean-up” or privacy tool does it for you, in a private or incognito window (where it usually never persists at all), when your browser evicts storage under pressure or after a long absence, when your device or profile changes, or simply if you play in a different browser. None of that is under our control.

The export code is your only backup. The game can produce a code that contains your pet; copy it somewhere safe and you can paste it back in later, or on another device. If the day count matters to you, take the code. We are sorry that this is the honest position rather than a reassuring one, but it is the honest position.

Availability

We do not promise that Dewkeep will be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change it, suspend it or withdraw it at any time without notice. It is a free service and we may stop running it. If we do, your local save will still be on your device, but there will be nothing left to load it into — another reason to keep your export code.

Third-party services

Dewkeep loads Google AdSense, Google Analytics and Google Fonts, and Google’s certified consent banner governs the cookies those involve. Those services are Google’s, not ours, and their own terms apply to them. Advertisements are selected by Google; we do not choose or endorse them, and we are not responsible for the sites they lead to. What each one receives is set out in our Privacy Policy.

No warranty and limitation of liability

Dewkeep is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the game will be uninterrupted or free of errors.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of Dewkeep, and specifically not for the loss of a save, a pet, a day count or an export code. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Children

Dewkeep is intended for a general adult audience. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — see the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version, and continuing to use Dewkeep after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Croatia, and disputes arising from them or from your use of Dewkeep are for the competent courts of Croatia — without depriving you of the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the country you live in. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in full effect.
